GAP
ZAPPER wins grand prize in inaugural challenge at the FARM
PROGRESS SHOW 2006 - AMANA, IOWA
Ten
innovative creations were featured in the Hospitality
Booth at this year's show in the first ever FPS
Inventor's Challenge. Earlier this spring inventors
entered their gadgets and the 10 finalists were on-hand
at the show. Visitors got a chance to see how the
products worked and vote for their favorite one. "We had
lots of interest in the inventions. People all the time
were coming through the area wanting to check out the
inventions and find out more information about next
year's competition," says Frank Holdmeyer, executive
editor for Farm Progress Midwest publications. Grand
Prize: Gap Zapper is a two-layer rubber mat that has a
conductive layer that attaches to your fence while the
bottom layer insulates you from a shock if you wear
rubber or vinyl-soled shoes. Inventors are Ron Franken
of Linn, Missouri and Herb Beck, of Farmington,
Missouri.
